Even the virtual company which is known as Oculus is now called Meta Platforms Inc. As meta (metaverse) is believed to be the successor of mobile internet.
The name change which Mark Zuckerberg announced during the company reality and augmented reality conference known as Facebook connect aligns with its developing focus on the Metaverse. This refers to the efforts to join together virtual and augmented reality technologies in a new realm online. Mark Zuckerberg’s actual words on that Thursday when the changing of the name was announced was “I’ve been thinking a lot about our identity as we begin this next chapter. Facebook is one of the most used products in the history of the world. He also said that “It is an iconic social media brand, but increasingly it just doesn’t encompass everything that we do”. Therefore, looking at this statement, I think that Mark Zuckerberg wants to take the social media platform Facebook to the next level. And also wants to make it encompass everything they do.
Why Facebook Changed Its Name to Meta
According to research made Meta is now the new name of Mark Zuckerberg’s business empire. This means a company that is now beyond social media apps. And is now into the design and recreation of new technologies. The name meta brings together all their apps and technologies under one new company brand. Also, it was named Meta with the major focus of bringing the metaverse to life. And helping people connect with each other, find communities, and grow their businesses.
The Metaverse will be like a mix of our present online social experiences. Sometimes expanded into three dimensions or bulged into the physical world. With it, you would be able to share immersive experiences with different people. Regardless of how close they are to you or far from you. Moreover, it also enables you to do things you can’t do together with them in the physical world. As instead of looking at a screen you would be in these experiences.

And about 150 million dollars investment in learning to train the creators of the next generation.
